6.4.1 Blower Belt Replacement
The following steps were taken from the blower
manufacturers operation and maintenance manual.
Refer to manual for detailed blower maintenance
information.
1.
Remove power from the flowbench.
2. Remove the side panel to gain access.
3. Remove the belt guard using the 1/2 inch socket.
4. Using a 9/16 inch box-end wrench, rotate the belt tensioner arm counter clockwise (CCW) and remove
the belt.
5. Clean any belt debris or dust from blower and pulleys. Do not use any abrasive materials on the pulley
grooves as this will damage the grooves and cause subsequent belt failures.
6. Using a 9/16 inch box-end wrench, rotate the belt tensioner arm counter clockwise (CCW). At the same
time wrap the replacement belt around the blower pulley, then along the right side of the idler pulley,
and finally around the motor pulley.
7. Slowly rotate the motor pulley to make sure the belt is seated in
the grooves.
8. Verify that the belt gap is approximately ¾ inch ±1/16 inch.
a. To adjust belt gap, use a ¾ inch deep socket to loosen the
bracket mounting bolts behind the motor pulley and slide the
bracket using a rubber mallet.
9.
Once belt gap has been verified and set, using a 1/2 inch
socket, install the belt guard.
10. Install the side panel and resume normal operation.
When working with electrical or
electronic controls, make sure that
the power source has been locked
out and tagged out according to
OSHA regulations and approved
local electrical codes.
