You cannot set a null password. You have to enter a password to change the
command mode from Normal Exec to Privileged Exec with the
enable
command (page
4-13
).
■
There is no need to specify encrypted passwords on the command line. The
option 7 is used internally by the switch at system bootup time to enable the
switch to read any encrypted passwords stored in the configuration file.

form to use the default port.
