Disaster Recovery Extended Service- Service is a Custom engagement and is built on a combination of Sync TrueCopy
(TC Sync) and Universal Replicator (UR) Software Advanced Features components. The service is custom scoped and
priced depending on the customer's requirements. The service supporting “3 Data Center” for Open Systems and “4x4x4”
and “6x6x6” for z/OS environments. Again depending on the customer's requirements the service may include:

components of the TrueCopy Sync services for Small, Medium, and Large configurations (TCS SM, MED, LG
configuration PN's)
2)
and the advanced Features of Universal Replicator software services for Small, Medium, Large, and XL
configurations (UR SM, MED, LG, XLG PN's)
In-System Replication Service- Service is composed of ShadowImage (SI) for both Open Systems and Mainframe as well
as Copy on Write (CoW) for Open Systems environments. Depending on the customer requirements the service can
include:
1)
the service may include ShadowImage (SI) Small, Medium, Large configurations (SI SM, MED, LG PN's) for
Open Systems or Mainframe environments
2)
and, or Copy on Write (CoW) Small, Medium, Large configurations (CoW SM, MED, LG PN's) for Open
Systems environments
Dynamic Provisioning Service- Service is composed of Custom Assessment Services to help customers determine the
potential ROI from an investment in Dynamic Provisioning, and a Custom Optimization service which is based of the
output of the Assessment Service. This service is for Open Systems environments only and is not applicable to Mainframe
environments. The services are custom services and scoped and priced on the size of the customer's environment and the
level of effort required to complete the services. It is a two (2) step process to engage Professional Services:
1)
Assessment Service is purchased and completed and an executive report is generated covering the possible ROI
the customer's will see in their environment if the plan is followed and all the steps implemented as outlined.
2)
The Optimization Service is the follow on to the Assessment Service and takes the components selected by the
customer and then integrates the Dynamic Provisioning Software features into the customer environment.
The Storage and Data Management Practice supports the release of J4 (SE 9985V).
For the ST9985V, Sun Support Services will deliver Professional Services relating to the installation, and
implementation of a complete data management solution. Professional Services will be responsible for the pre-
sales assessment, architecture and design of these solutions. Implementation services are price listed for the
ST9900 product line and will be available for the ST9985V.
Sun Services delivers a number of new services built around the software capabilities of the ST9985V.
Implementations are available for the Base Operating System, Disaster Recovery, Disaster Recovery Extended,
In-Service Replication, Dynamic Provisioning and Mainframe Software, for both Open Systems and
mainframe environments.
