e. If there are any file systems shown in
/etc/vfstab
that are still configured as
physical devices, and if you wish to build those file systems on AP
metadevices, edit
/etc/vfstab
and reconfigure those file systems as AP
metadevices.
Caution – You must be a knowledgeable system administrator to edit
/etc/vfstab. If you do not configure your file systems properly in /etc/vfstab, it is
possible that you will loose data the next time you boot the domain.
f. Reboot the domain.
11. On the SSP, unshare the CD-ROM drive, and remove the Sun Computer Systems
Supplement CD.
12. Install and configure Solstice DiskSuite 4.2, by following steps 10 through 16 in
the procedure “How to Convert to DiskSuite 4.2 on SPARC Systems Running
DiskSuite 4.0 or 4.1” in the Solstice DiskSuite 4.2 Installation and Product Notes
(October 19, 1998).
Caution – If your boot disk is mirrored, make sure you specify the upgraded disk
as the primary mirror.
13. Optionally set the OBP
boot-device
variable to any available boot device path.
There may be as many as four boot device paths if you have a mirrored boot disk
that is also alternately pathed. (Earlier in this procedure, when both AP and the
volume manager were deconfigured, it was necessary for
boot-device
to point to
the physical path to root (
/
) as specified in
/etc/vfstab
.)
Upgrading to AP 2.2 and a Volume Manager
Other Than Solstice DiskSuite 4.2
If you are upgrading to AP 2.2 and you are also upgrading to a volume manager
other than Solstice DiskSuite 4.2, follow the general guidelines in this section.
