Before doing compressor maintenance, discon-
nect compressor from power source and lock out
power source. Isolate compressor from line pres-
sure by closing recommended discharge shut--
off valve and releasing all internal pressure from
compressor.
ELEMENT INSPECTION
1. Place a bright light inside the element to inspect
for damage or leak holes. Concentrated light will
shine through the element and locate any holes.
2. Inspect all gaskets and gasket contact surfaces
of the housing. Should faulty gaskets be evident,
correct the condition immediately.
3. If the clean element is to be stored for later use, it
must be stored in a clean container.
4. After the element has been installed, inspect and
tighten (if necessary) all air inlet connections
prior to resuming operation.

Before doing compressor maintenance, discon-
nect compressor from power source and lock out
power source. Isolate compressor from line pres-
sure by closing recommended discharge shut--
off valve and releasing all internal pressure from
compressor.
1. Remove the separator maintenance gauge line
and fluid return line from their connections, if
equipped.
2. Remove the 4 capscrews that secure the separa-
tor housing to the compressor. Remove housing.
3. Remove old separator element and o--ring.
4. Clean all surfaces. Install new element and o--
ring into compressor main housing.
5. Install new o--ring on the separator housing and
attach separator housing to compressor main
housing using the 4 capscrews. Torque caps-
crews to 148 ft. lb. (200 Nm).
6. Replace the separator maintenance gauge line
and fluid return line from their connections, if
equipped.
MOISTURE SEPARATOR ELEMENT REPLACE-
MENT
The moisture separator element should be changed
every 4000 hours or when the pressure differential
across the filter unit exceeds 10 psig (0.7 bar).

sure by closing recommended discharge shut--
off valve and releasing all internal pressure from
compressor.
1. Remove the separator gauge line, from its con-
nection, if equipped.
2. Unscrew and remove the threaded bowl and bowl
seal.
3. Unscrew lower baffle and remove filter element
and gaskets (2).
4. Clean all internal parts before reassembling.
