Cockpit
☐
With the major framing completed cover the
following assemblies using AeroLITE or
AeroFILM available from StevensAero.com.
- Fuselage and Battery Hatch
- Cockpit
(detail interior as desired)
- Horizontal and Vertical Fins
- Wing Assembly
- Ailerons
(When covering, remember
that there’s a right/left aileron based on
the control horn pocket!)
☐
After covering hatch assembly, remove
covering from vents.
☐
After covering cockpit and detailing interior as
desired. Gather the following parts: Plywood
washers (from sheet 29), PTEG windscreen,
and six #0 x 3/16 in. sheet metal screws.
☐
Measure 2-7/8 in. from trailing edge of cockpit
and make a mark 1/4 in. below top edge of
cockpit. Use a pin vice or scrap of 1/32 wire
and drill hole at this location. Repeat on
opposite side.
☐
Remove protective plastic from windscreen.
Drive #0 x 3/16 in. screw through hole in
windscreen, then through hole in cockpit side.
Capture screw threads on inside of cockpit
with one ply washer. Repeat to opposite side.
Seat lower edge of wind screen against top of
cockpit deck. Use remaining holes in
windscreen as a guide to drill pilot holes for
last four #0 x 3/16 screws.
Install screws through drilled holes to secure
windscreen, then cockpit, and finally captured
with plywood washer.
With wind screen secure, wick thin CA around
base of ply washers to retain these within
cockpit. Color washers to match interior trim
scheme.
