While hatch assembly dries, build spring
loaded latch assembly for cockpit.
From provided 12 in. length, of 1/16 in. dia.
wire. Make a 90 degree bend 1/2 in. from
end of wire.
Note: Bending slightly over 1/2
inch is acceptable this part can later be
trimmed to a final length.
Cut long end of wire to measure 5-5/8 in. total
length from inside edge of 90 degree bend.
Slide one black nylon dished washer over
wire assembly, dished side toward bend, and
locate so that flat of washer measures 3/4 in.
from outside edge of wire at bend.
Disassemble ball point pen and retrieve
spring for use in latch assembly.
Slip ply part H12c over wire against
previously installed nylon washer, follow with
spring from ball point pen. Finish by sliding
second nylon washer over wire to capture
and
slightly
tension spring. See illustration.

Once H17 has dried, remove tape, align and
bond sheeting to supporting structure. Finish
by lightly sanding cockpit assembly.
