Lay parts R1 on table, mirrored to each other,
with etching facing up. Place R1a on top of
R1, etched side up, matching the “TOP” side
orientation of both parts R1 and R1a.
Note: It is very important that you lay your
R1/R1a ribs out to look
EXACTLY
as pictured
below. Study the photo carefully to ensure
that you will be making a right and left R1 rib
set and that “TOP” of R1a follows the “TOP”
side orientation of parts R1.
DO NOT GLUE.

Once you are certain that you have laid out
R1 and R1a parts correctly, pass two 1/8 in.
diameter drill bits (for use as alignment
dowels) through alignment holes in parts.
Slide R1a up alignment dowels, apply thick
CA glue between parts, now slide R1a back
on top of R1 aligning notches, edges, and
alignment holes. Remove alignment dowels.
Your completed R1 rib should appear as
below (Right R1 rib pictured). Repeat for left
R1 rib.

Place WM1a on a solid work surface with
etched “TOP” side up. Drive two 8-32 blind
nuts through WM1a from the “TOP” down as
illustrated. Stop driving blind nuts through
part when they bottom out on the work table.

Now place part WM1b under assembly
matching holes in WM1b to holes with blind
nuts in WM1a. Continue to drive blind nuts
through both sets of parts. Wick medium CA
glue between ply parts and around top flange
of blind nuts creating part WM1.
Do not
allow glue to enter threaded portion of
blind nut.
