The factory has verified that LAG functions properly with Cisco/Linksys SLM2008
8-port Gigabit Smart Switches on each end of the link. The Ethernet switch
integrated into the IDU is double-clocked, which allows Ethernet transmissions
across the link in excess of 100 Mbps. IDU Ethernet ports 1 and 3 are designated
as the Ethernet data ports, and ports 0 and 2 act as management ports.
Ethernet traffic on a single incoming GigE link with a fixed MAC source address
that enters the LAG switch will never be transported across the aggregated
wireless link at a rate in excess of 100 Mbps. However, a GigE link carrying traffic
from two different source addresses, both at 65 Mbps, will achieve a throughput of
130 Mbps, provided the wireless link is configured in mode that can support data
rates >100 Mbps (e.g., 28 MHz, 128-QAM).
5.2.1. Cisco Switch Configuration
1. Connect one switch to an Ethernet port on a PC with an IP address on the
192.168.1.xxx subnet.
2. Open a web browser and connect to http://192.168.1.254
3. Log on to the switch with username: admin, no password.
4. Navigate to System->System Settings , change the IP address, add a
password (if desired), and press Save Settings .
5. Power cycle the switch, change the IP address of the Ethernet port on the
PC to be on the same subnet as the switch’s new IP address, and log back
on to the switch management interface.
6. Navigate to Port->Port Settings . Turn on Flow Control if desired. Do not fix
the Mode of Ports 1 and 2, the aggregated ports, to 100BASE-T. Unless
these 2 PORTS are allowed to autonegotiate with the switch in the IDU
(Mode: Auto Speed), link aggregation will not work! See Figure 40.
