4.4. Ethernet Flow Control 
 

The platform supports the standard Ethernet flow control on all front panel ports, as 
defined  in  IEEE  802.3x.  Flow  control  involves  temporarily  halting  transmission  of 
Ethernet frames in response to traffic congestion signaled from downstream ports. 
The  basic  mechanism  for  performing  flow  control  (in  full  duplex  mode)  is  via  a 
PAUSE frame.
