2.1.4. Modem Tab
The Modem Tab, shown in Figure 14, presents key modem status and a
configuration control interface. To change the Modem Configuration, select the
desired Bandwidth mode, Modulation type, and Transport mix (Ethernet + E1,
Ethernet + T1 or Ethernet only) from the pull-downs. A filtered list of available
modes then appears in the box below. Select the desired mode from the list. Then
select the desired number of T1 or E1 telco lines from the Number of Lines pull-
down. Capacity not required for the selected number of telco lines is automatically
allocated to Ethernet transport. If less than the maximum number of telco lines are
selected, the lowest indexed lines are made active. (E.g., for the 4 port IDU, ports
P0 and P1 are made active if two lines are selected.) The selected configuration
can be saved to the IDU’s non-volatile memory and applied upon the next power-
on by clicking “Apply & Save”. Click “Apply” to apply the settings without storing to
power-on settings. Click “Restore” to restore settings from Power-on settings. Note
that upon a power-cycle or Reboot, it is the configuration saved in the Poweron
settings that will be applied.
Warning: do not refresh the browser or click on any buttons or link until the
configuration operation has completed.
The
Modem Configuration Status
pane displays details of the current
configuration. The
Modem State
pane displays the operational status of the radio’s
transmitter and receiver. Nominal operation is indicated by
OPERATING
.
ACQUIRING
is displayed immediately following link reconfiguration. Pressing the
Plot Constellation
button displays an ASCII plot of the demodulated constellation.
