TOWING FOR SHORT DISTANCES (PUMP 40 BOSCH REXROTH)
Attention: these operations can be only be carried out with the engine off and the wheels blocked by
means of wedges to prevent the machine from making uncontrolled movements. Crushing hazard.
To tow the machine for short distances, in other words only to move it from a dangerous area or in case it
breaks down and becomes a hindrance, proceed as follows:
Release the negative brake (by following the procedure described above)
Remove the wedges
Proceed with the towing operation
The machine can be towed for short distances (max 200-300 m) and at a maximum speed of 3 km/h.
iii.
TOWING FOR LONG DISTANCES
Attention: these operations can only be carried out with the engine off and the vehicle blocked by means of
wedges to prevent the machine from making uncontrolled movements. Crushing hazard.
Long-distance towing cannot be carried out using the same procedure as for short-distance towing. When
the engine is off, the hydraulic power parts can only be rotated for very short distances in emergency
situations, or else risk being seriously damaged.
Assuming that it is always advisable to trailer the vehicle with respect to towing it, if no alternative is
possible, the following is absolutely necessary:
Release the negative brake (by following the procedure described above)
Release the transmission mechanically by releasing the hydrostatic engine from the gearbox on the
front axle
Remove the wedges
Proceed with the towing operation
If long-distance towing is nonetheless necessary (therefore, with the hydrostatic engine detached), it is very
important to remember that the service brake has a very limited braking autonomy (max 5-6 brakes) before
the circuit is discharged and the system no longer works.
