Troubleshooting
This section contains a list of common errors that can occur during opera-
tion of the receiver. For each error a possible cause and the recommend-
ed correction are given.
Symptom
Possible cause
Corrective Action
Display is not illu-
minated.
The power cable has not
been connected.
The main switch has not
been switched on.
Connect the power cable to the
mains socket.
Switch on the mains switch.
No sound or pic-
ture, in the receiver
display the current
time is shown.
Receiver is in standby
mode.
Press the power key, in order to
switch on the receiver.
No sound or pic-
ture.
No signal or only a weak
signal.
Check the cable connections to
the receiver and from the receiver
to the connected units and fasten
them, if necessary.
The TV set has no
picture.
The system is not con-
nected properly.
The TV set is not in the
AV mode.
Check the connection of the scart
or composite cable and fasten it.
If necessary switch the TV set to
the appropriate AV input.
Picture only black
and white and/or
not properly syn-
chronized.
The video format of your
receiver is not set
properly.
Adjust the TV standard of your
receiver to that of the TV set.
The remote control
is not working.
The batteries are used
up.
The remote control is
aligned incorrectly.
Replace the batteries with new
ones.
Direct the remote control at the
front panel of the receiver.
The display is
flashing.
Short circuit at the an-
tenna input.
Unplug the antenna connector at
the LNB input and check it.
Make sure that your antenna sys-
tem is installed properly.
