Drilling metal

•  Select drill mode with the Torque Selector (2)
•  Ensure that drill bits are suitable for the grade of metal being drilled, and

are within the maximum capacity of the machine (see “Specifications”)

•  To ensure accuracy, mark the intended hole position using a hammer

and centre punch

WARNING:

The drill bit and the workpiece will become very hot when

drilling metal. DO NOT touch the bit and never allow it to come into contact
with combustible materials when hot. Always use a suitable lubricant or
cutting fluid, and drill at appropriate speeds.
•  Only apply moderate pressure to the drill bit, ensuring efficient cutting

and prolonged drill bit life

•  Use a countersink bit to remove sharp burrs from the hole, preventing

cuts and other kinds of injury

Maintenance

WARNING:

Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before

carrying out any maintenance/cleaning of the charger. Remove the battery
before carrying out any maintenance/cleaning of the drill.

Note:

Both the drill and the charger contain no user-serviceable parts.

If the device does not perform as outlined in this manual, return it to an
authorised Silverline service centre for repair.

Cleaning

•  Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal

parts to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the
body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use
clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes

Problem

Possible cause

Solution

Red LED does not illuminate

and battery not charging

Battery not fully seated

Clean battery socket of battery connector

Charger not powered

Recheck mains connection

Battery has low capacity

Battery not being fully charged

Charge the battery for 3 – 5 hours

Battery charged days before use

Charge the previous day or same day as use

Battery has been charged over 100 times and

capacity has started to reduce

This is normal for batteries. Contact your Silverline dealer to purchase

a replacement battery

Drill cannot be switched on

(trigger switch does not move)

The forward/reverse switch may be in the middle

(“locked”) position

Slide the forward/reverse switch either to the left or right

Drill does not start when trigger

is pressed

Battery completely discharged

Recharge battery or replace with a fully charged battery

Defective battery

Replace battery

Drill machine defective

Contact your Silverline dealer or authorised service centre

Screws do not reach deep

enough into the workpiece

Not enough torque; torque selector setting too low

Choose a higher torque setting

Low battery voltage

Recharge battery or replace with a fully charged battery

Screws are driven too deep into

the workpiece surface

Too much torque; torque selector setting too high

Choose a lower torque setting
