protected plugs in good working order.

g)  Ensure that the chisel or drill bit is securely fixed in the chuck.

Insecure drill bits can be ejected from the machine causing a hazard.

h)  Ensure that the lighting is adequate.
i)  Ensure that the drill bit is in contact with the workpiece prior to

starting up the tool.

j)  Before drilling, check that there is sufficient clearance for the drill

bit under the workpiece.

k)  Use both hands when operating this tool. ALWAYS

use auxiliary

handles supplied with the tool.

l)  DO NOT put pressure on the tool, to do so would shorten its service

life.

m)  Drill bits get hot during operation, allow to cool prior to handling

 them.

n)  NEVER use your hands to remove sawdust, chips or waste close by

the bit.

o)  If you are interrupted when operating the drill, complete the

Product Familiarisation

Unpacking Your Tool

•  Carefully unpack and inspect your new sander. Familiarise yourself with

all its features and functions

•  Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If

any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool

Before Use

 WARNING:

Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply

before attaching or changing any accessories, or making any adjustments.

Attaching the side handle

•  The Side Handle (10) should always be used when drilling
•  ALWAYS hold the drill firmly using both hands
•  The Side Handle can be adjusted to best suit the work to be performed
•  To adjust the Side Handle, rotate the handle grip anti-clockwise to loosen

the handle assembly. Move the Side Handle to the required position and
secure by rotating the handle grip clockwise

Operating the chuck

•  The Chuck (1) can be opened by holding the rear chuck ring, and rotating

the front chuck ring anti-clockwise

•  To tighten the chuck, hold the rear chuck ring, and rotate the front chuck

ring clockwise

•  DO NOT run the drill to tighten or release the chuck. This will cause

permanent damage to your tool

Speed control

•  The maximum speed of the drill can be limited by using the Speed

Control Dial (8). This limits the maximum settable speed  of the Trigger
Switch (7) between 0 and 1000min

-1

(low gear), or 0 and 3000min

-1

(high gear)

•  Rotate Speed Control Dial (8) to adjust the speed as indicated on the

Trigger Switch

•  Direction control
•  The direction of the drill can be changed using the Forward/Reverse

Selector (5)

•  To run the drill in a clockwise direction, push the Forward/Reverse

Selector to the right

•  To run the drill in an anti-clockwise direction, push the Forward/Reverse

Selector to the left

•  DO NOT attempt to move the Forward/Reverse Selector while the drill

is running

•  DO NOT attempt to run the drill with the Forward/Reverse Selector in

mid-position

Hammer selection

•  The drill can be used in either hammer drill mode (for masonry work) or

normal drill mode (for wood, metal etc)

•  To select hammer drilling mode, Move the Hammer Selection Switch (4)

to the right

•  To select rotary drilling mode, Move the Hammer Selection Switch to

the left

•  DO NOT attempt to move the Hammer Selection Switch whilst the drill

is running

Gear selection

•  The drill is equipped with 2 gears. This allows you to select the correct

gear to match the task to be performed. Low gear (0-1000min

-1

) is more

suitable for low speed tasks that require high torque including driving
screws and fasteners or drilling harder materials. High gear (0-3000min

-1

is more suitable for normal drilling. If the task to be performed does not
require speeds above 1000min

-1

, use the low gear, as this will reduce the

load on the motor
