Windows Environment
Contact SGI Technical Support to obtain a USB stick with the new firmware. Then follow these steps
to update the firmware:
1.
Create a USB stick for the code update:
• Insert your 4GB USB stick into your computer.
• In Windows Explorer, right-click on the device with the Volume Name “JANUS_UP” and
select
Format
from the pop-up menu
. Then click the
Start
button in the Format
screen.
• To copy and extract the code on the USB stick, right-click on the filename and select
Extract Files Here
2.
Insert the USB stick into the back of the controller.
3.
At the CLUI prompt, enter command
UPDATE CONTROLLER LOCAL
4.
Upon completion of reboot, login and enter command
SHOW CONTROLLER LOCAL ALL
. Verify
that the firmware version is correct.
5.
Repeat the above steps on the other controller. You do not need to back out either controller
during this procedure.
