NOTICE
Incorrect assembly
The device can be damaged or destroyed or its functionality impaired through incorrect
assembly.
● Make sure before installing the device that there is no visible damage.
● Check that the process connections are clean and the right seals and cable glands have
been used.
● Mount the device using a suitable tool. Information on the required torque during
installation can be found at →Technical specifications (Page 87).
WARNING
Incorrect disassembly
The following dangers may result through incorrect disassembly:
● Injury through electric shock
● Danger through escaping media when connected to the process
● Danger of explosion in hazardous area
In order to disassemble correctly, observe the following:
● Before starting work, make sure that you have switched off all physical variables such as
pressure, temperature, electricity, etc. or that they have a harmless value.
● If the device contains dangerous media, it must be emptied prior to disassembly. Make
sure that no media are released which are environmentally hazardous.
● Secure the remaining connections so that no damage can result if the process is started
unintentionally.
Note
Do not open the field device during operation. Only open the field device during installation,
when connecting up or for maintenance purposes.
Note
The installation location should be:
● Easily accessible
● Vibration-free
● Within the ambient temperature limits
Note
Air circulation
Make sure that heat does not build up at the site of installation. Ensure that there is a sufficient
circulation of air around the field device.
