Pinout of the X3 RJ-45 Western jack for the RS-232/RS-485 port
The X3 connector of the combined RS-232/RS-485 port is designed as an 8-pin RJ-45
Western jack. The pinout is shown in the following table.

Interface adapter cable
The TIM 4R / TIM 4RD has a second serial interface X3 (combined RS-232/RS-485).
An adapter cable is required to connect the second serial port with an external modem or
other transmission device. At one end of this cable, there is an RJ-45 plug and at the other
end, a 9-pin D-sub miniature male connector to which the normal connecting cable to the
modem or transmission device can be connected.
The adapter cable is supplied with each TIM 4R/4RD module. It can also be ordered as a
spare part under the number listed in the following table.
