If an MD2 or MD3 dedicated line modem is connected to the X1 connector, it is possible to
operate several of these dedicated line modems connected in parallel over this connector
(the port must then be switched to RS-485 functionality). This allows a dedicated line star
network to be connected to the X1 connector. For more detailed information, refer to the
sections with the network examples.
