Creating an Extended FAT 32 Partition
In order to create an extended partition you have to boot from the Recovery
Windows 2000 CD as described above in steps 1 to 4.
Create an extended DOS partition for the rest of the disk space.
Under Windows 2000, the FAT 32 file system can be changed to a NTFS file
system with the function ”Format”.

Creating Partitions under Windows NT
After installing a new hard disk it is necessary to create partitions when they parti-
tions have errors or need to be changed.
Note
By deleting or creating partitions all saved data is lost on the hard disk. All drives
on the hard disk will be erased.
The hard disk is delivered with the following installed (only for versions delivered
with Windows NT):
– a partition of with the FAT16 file system with 2045 Mbytes,
– a partition of with the NTFS file system.
The creation of partitions is done under the Windows NT setup program. Starting
the Windows NT setup is described in chapter 6.6.
