Notes on the parameters:
The syntax for the names of the country-specific variants is as follows:
<language>_<country>.<code set>-<version>
A number of different country-specific variants are available for some countries.
These differ mainly in their code sets. There are two types of code set:
Here,
n
represents the numbers 1, 2, 5, 7, or 9. The code set you should select
depends on the applications that are to run on the system in the future, and on the
data currently stored on the system. The ISO 8859 standard is generally used for
Reliant UNIX and SINIX V5.42 systems.
Terminal emulation
The keyboard must be configured for both alphanumeric
mode (
ANSI emulation
) and graphics mode (
x97801
emulation
). The parameters must be entered separately for
each emulation type.
Keyboard type
Two keyboard types are supported: the MF2 keyboard and
the WX keyboard. To find out what type of keyboard you
are using, check the label on the underside of your
keyboard. If you are using a PC keyboard with no label,
enter
MF2
.
Country specific
keyboard
The keyboard layout differs from country to country. Use
the
[CHOICES]
or
[F2]
key to display an overview of all
supported country-specific variants. If you do not know
which variant applies in your case, you can request a help
text by pressing
[HELP]
or
[F1]
. This text shows how the
available variants correspond to the different keyboard
types. To find out what type of keyboard you are using,
check the label on the underside of your keyboard.
