Online replacement (OLR)
See the manual “Hardware Configuration with Config under
SINIX/windows”.
On color monitors, defective or disabled devices are shaded red; on monochrome
monitors they are highlighted in a different grayscale.

To initiate replacement you select the
storage devices
submenu from the main
config
menu.
Ê
Mark the appropriate drive, and select
Replace disk xxxx online
from the
Edit
menu.
This procedure is also described in the online help text “Replace disk
online” under
Index
.
XConfig
checks that all the conditions are met, suspends mirroring for the defective
drive and disables the drive. A message on the screen indicates where the drive is
located on your system. Then the query
Exchanging disk done?
is displayed. If the red
LED on the defective drive is on, you can remove the drive and install the
replacement.

Defective or disabled devices are reported on the console and logged in
/etc/.osm
.

logs - Log - iosdisk - Select Error File - current - SAVE
The disk defects are listed.
You can list failed mirrored drives under the system administrator id with the
dkmirror -lv
command.
