Attaching monitors without the optional PCI graphics controller

Plug the 15-pin connector on the monitor connecting cable into the 15-pin
socket (VGA) on the system unit backplane and tighten the securing
screws.
Ê
Plug the other end of the cable into the matching socket on the back of
the monitor.
Connecting the alphanumeric console
Ê
Attach the 9-pin socket on the connecting cable (console to system unit) to the
corresponding 9-pin V.24 connector marked CONSOLE/COM1 (system unit
backplane) and secure the connector by tightening the mounting screws.
Ê
Attach the 25-pin socket on the connecting cable (console to system unit) to
the corresponding 25-pin V.24 connector on the connection panel of the
terminal.
Ê
Attach the keyboard to the console as described in the operating manual for
the terminal.
The line speed for console terminal must be set to 19200 baud. For information on
how to set the line speed, refer to the operating manual for your terminal.
The default settings are described in the chapter “Equipment settings” on page 159.
An alphanumeric console with a VGA monitor is connected in the same way as
a graphical monitor (except that there is no mouse).
