UPnP
UPnP technology was designed for home and office networks. Devices supporting
UPnP automatically configure their network settings as soon as connected to a
network. In addition, they automatically provide, depending on class, own services
or use services of other devices on the network.
URL
A URL refers to an information source, e.g. http://www.siemens.com. The URL is a
uniform web address that is used to determine the network protocol used (e.g. http)
or the location of the resource on the network.

The wide area network WAN has a spatial dimension of ca. 50 km. A WAN can
comprise a number of several LANs. If an ISP operates a WAN, private LAN users
receive access to the Internet.
