may not indicate correctly for a short period after
resuming from standby or hibernate mode.

If the actual remaining power in your battery is less than what
Power
Meter
indicates, you should condition the battery pack as per the
procedure on
Conditioning Battery Pack
section in this chapter
.
Low Battery Indication
When the battery power level becomes significantly low, the battery indicator
(
)
blinks red, the warning beep sounds. Save your data and turn off your computer, or
connect the AC power source immediately. Otherwise, your computer will be shut
down and the unsaved data may be lost.
On Windows, you can set the battery level for sounding an alarm and letting your
computer go on System standby
,
System hibernate or shut down automatically.
To set Windows battery alarm:
1. In
the Power Options
Properties dialog box, select
Alarms
tab.
2.
Set the battery level at which the alarms are activated. We recommend you set
Critical battery alarm
to 5 % or more and
Low battery alarm
to more than the
value of Critical battery alarm.
3. Set
the
Alarm Action
… to the appropriate settings.
4. Click
OK
twice.
5. Close
the
Control Panel
window.
