Accessories – technical data
8.10.1 Brake
The mechanical brake is a holding brake implemented as a spring-loaded brake.
The brake has a universal supply voltage DC 24 V and is available with two braking
torques per motor size.
The brake cannot be retrofitted.
If the servomotors are run on servo inverters from SEW-EURODRIVE, overvoltage
protection is provided.
If the servomotors are run on servo inverters from other manufacturers, overvoltage
protection must be implemented by the customers themselves using, for example,
varistors.
Observe the notes in the relevant operating instructions for servo inverters concerning
the switching sequence of motor enable and brake control during standard operation.
