Configuration of GPS connection

For line measurements (see
) and for georeferencing area and

), a GPS is required.
To connect an external GPS which allows for data output via Bluetooth go on with
Option 1
.
If you are using an Archer2 Geo with an integrated GPS go on with
Option 2
.
The accuracy of referencing and Line Measurements is strongly dependent on the used
GPS.
Please take in consideration that by using the internal GPS of the Archer2 Geo, the
maximum GPS quality is "DGPS". That needs to be set in the relevant
By using DGPS quality, it is recommended to reference a field afterwards in MonSX
(see
7.8.1 Referencing Field Measurements
) instead of conducting a Line
Measurement.
Option 1
In order to set the connection between the GPS and the PDA, follow the steps which are listed in
Chapter 7.1 Connecting the SBL 10 unit with the PDA
and refer to the manual of the GPS-
Receiver. This step needs to be carried out only once.
Go to the MonSX welcome screen and select "Menu" (1) - "Options" (2) and "Connection to
GPS" (3) in the following screen.
Now select the COM port which you have previously assigned to your Bluetooth connection. In
addition you need to set the interface parameters of the GPS connection. The settings have to
match the settings that have been made in the GPS receiver. By tapping "test" (4) you can check if
your configuration is correct. If this is the case, then there is a live view of the GPS data as shown
in the example below.
