Any long term storage of the battery (weeks not days) should be done with the battery at
approximately 50-75% capacity.

See

13.2 for more information about the battery.

Insert the battery into the battery compartment on the right side of the Display Unit.  Loosen (do
NOT remove) the 2 thumbscrews until the door can swing open and insert the battery.  The
battery compartment is keyed with rounded corners so the battery can only go in the right way.
Insert the battery such that the battery tab remains out (this is so you can easily remove the
battery), as shown in Figure 3-6.  Close the battery compartment door and tighten the thumb
screws.
