Maintenance
Cleaning
Caution:
Always de-energize the unit using proper lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures when cleaning,
lubricating, or performing any other maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.
Warning:
NEVER reach into the cutting chamber with bare hands.
Caution:
Always wear proper PPE, including cut resistant gloves, when accessing the cutting chambers.
Tools and PPE Required:
•
Cut resistant gloves, safety eyewear, and a face mask
•
Multi-purpose cleaning solution and rags
•
5/32” Allen wrench
•
Pliers
•
Flat head screwdriver
•
Vacuum cleaner
Frequency:
Every eight hours of operation

Using the Allen wrench, remove four bolts (Figure 7) and remove the feed chute to gain access to the
Stage 1 chamber (Figure 8).
2.
Inspect for any debris outside the cutting chambers.
Note:
Debris outside the cutting chambers indicates a sealing issue that needs to be addressed.

Using proper PPE, remove any debris built up on cutters and combers and inspect for damage. SEM
recommends using pliers and a screwdriver.
4.
Open cutting chamber front guard door and vacuum any particles from the drawer.
