Clearing a Stage 2 Jam
Caution:
Always de-energize the unit using proper lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures when cleaning,
lubricating, or performing any other maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.
Warning:
NEVER reach into the cutting chamber with bare hands.
Caution:
Always wear proper PPE, including cut resistant gloves, when accessing the cutting chambers.
Tools and PPE Required:
Cut resistant gloves
7/16” and 3/4” wrenches or sockets
Test to ensure the jam is cleared as follows:
1.
Ensure that the rotor can make a full 360° rotation. If it cannot, it is still jammed.
2.
If you cannot clear all of the material by access from the cutting chamber, you may need to remove the
screen. See
Removing or Changing the Screen
, page 20.

After you clear the jam, replace the hopper gasket (Figure 60) and hopper, ensuring the red or orange
painted lines match up (Figure 61).
