EPLACEMENT OF THE

If the valve which is used to switch the path of the mobile phase in the normal measuring
mode and purge mode needs to be replaces follow the following steps:
Switch of the RI2012 refractive index detector and unplug the mains cable

NOTE
To prevent electrical shock make sure that the power cable is disconnected before opening
the housing of the instrument.
Remove the stainless steel capillaries from the valve body.

NOTE
Remind the position of the capillaries for proper re-connection.
Loosen the control cable of the valve at the main circuit board.
Loosen the two screws holding the valve body.
Remove the valve body and replace with the new one.
Tighten the holding screws and reconnect the capillaries in the correct positions.
Connect the signal cable to the contact labelled “Valve” on the main circuit board.
Start you chromatography pump to flush mobile phase through your RI2012 detector.
Check the capillary connections for any leakage.
Close the instrument’s housing.
