2 SAFETY
Operating conditions
Use must be restricted to the conditions listed below. In other cases, consult the manufacturer.
■
If possible, avoids air gaps between workpiece and pole plate, e.g. caused by unevenness, rough surfaces,
dirt and burrs.
■
Avoid thin workpieces if possible.
■
Avoid workpieces with a small contact surface.
■
Use workpiece materials with the highest possible ferromagnetic alloy content (e.g. Fe and Co). The adhesion
forces are significantly reduced on stainless steel, cast iron or materials with a high nickel content.
■
The electro permanent magnetic circular chucks are intended for indoor use only.
2.2
Personnel qualification
The minimum age for personnel is 18 years.
The personnel have to know and understand the interactions with the higher level machine/system and any other
machine/system parts.
The personnel have to be familiar with the regulations on health and safety and accident prevention.
Operating personnel
To exclude possible errors and hazards, only authorised persons are permitted to work with the magnetic circular
chucks. The operator has responsibility towards third parties in the working area.
NOTE!
The responsibilities for different tasks on the machine must be clearly

accessible to the operator and must ensure that the operator has read and
understood these. Also note the operating instructions for magnetic chucks,
polarity reversal control unit, slip ring assemblies and carbon brush holders.
Qualified personnel
