The Saneo4SPORT
The Saneo4SPORT works with two forms of therapy which have
been scientifi cally recognized in medicine::
EMS ( E lectrical M uscle S timulation) and
TENS ( T ranscutaneous E lectrical N erv S timulation).
EMS which is an extremely effective therapy is predominantly ap-
plied in rehabilitation. It is a method that uses electrical impulses
to address certain muscle groups directly. Among other things it
is used to avoid muscular atrophy as well as to rebuild and relax
muscles
Muscle activity is normally triggered by a transmission command
of the brain. A pulse in the form of an electrical signal is sent to
the responsible nerve pathway via the spine. This pathway sup-
plies the nerve fi bres of the muscle, and the pulse thus ultimately
causes the muscle to tense.
EMS generates artifi cial stimulation of the muscle by means of
low-frequency electrical pulses that stimulate the nerves located
beneath the skin which in turn activate the corresponding muscle
groups
In the cosmetics area, electrical stimulation is used to comple-
ment some other therapy forms (e.g. light and heat therapy) to
treat cellulite among other things. R. Weyergans writes in his
book „Aktiv gegen Cellulite“ (p. 118ff.) „Electrical stimulation
triggers the muscle to contract and relax precisely. In cosmetics
it is called »passive gymnastics«, […] which leads to smoothing
of the skin from the inside out. With a proper gymnastics the
muscles are built up, fat deposits and nutrient reserves are partly
used up and converted.“ Also in physiotherapy the positive effect
of electrical stimulation on the lymphatic system is often used
and so it is regularly taken as preparation or supplementation of
manual lymphatic drainage.
TENS
used for the effective treatment of acute and chronic pain.
Electrical impulses cause depending on the stimulation frequency
either a distribution of pain-killing, endogenous substances or a
blockade of the pain passing to the brain.
Two frequency areas are distinguished in the TENS treatment
programs:

TENS therapy (1 Hz to 20 Hz)
… is perfectly suitable for the treatment of chronic pain as it
can activate the distribution of pain-killing, endogenous
substances (e.g. endorphins, dynorphins). Endogenous
pain-killers also remain effective after the treatment.
•
TENS therapy (50 Hz to 100 Hz)
… is particularly suitable for the treatment of acute pain. It
can block or reduce the pain transmission to the brain..
Treatment frequency
As long as side effects such as skin irritations do not
occur, it is possible to use the system if necessary
several times daily.
