2.3.2.2 TEPRI2
TEPRI2 provides the digital trunk line. A TEPRI2 module provides two ports for E1, T1,
ISDN and PRI respectively, and functions as the Q-SIG. This module transmits voice via
the trunk line and a channel transmits the voice data at 64 Kbps.
Main Functions
The TEPRI2 voice trunk line module performs the following functions:

Selects function for T1/E1/PRI signal process through programming

A resistance circuit that satisfies both T1(100

y
Surge protection (International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standard)
y
Output port protection for line monitors
y
Jitter function that satisfies ITU-T I.431 and G.703

Selectable line codecs (HDB3, AMI)

Local/remote loop

HDLC or Common Associated Signalling(CAS) through Common Channel Signalling
(CCS)
