7.2.4 Connecting Common Bell
A customer-provided loud ringing device can be controlled using a dry contact pair on the
MP20S MISC port.
Common bell connections should be wired to the MP20S MISC port.
By using MMC 204, programming allows for interrupted or continuous operation of the
contacts. The interrupted selection follows the CO ring cadence, 1 sec ON/3 sec OFF. Relay
type can be assigned to Common Bell in MMC 218.

The OfficeServ 7200-S system supports only one dry contact for the common bell. The MISC
port is located on the front panel of the MP20S.

WARNING
: Do not attempt to connect commercial AC power to these contacts.
1)
After connecting a common bell, you must assign it in MMC 601 to a group as a ring
destination by using the code for common bell.
2)
After wiring to the contact pair, set contacts for continuous or steady operation.
3)
Next, program hunt group to include the common bell.
4)
Assign the trunk to ring the hunt group containing the common bell. Common bell
control can be used with station hunt groups, individual stations and universal answer.
