Using T9 Mode
T9 is a predictive text input mode that allows you to key in any character using single keystrokes. This text input
mode is based on a built-in dictionary.
To enter a word in T9 mode:
1.
When you are in T9 mode, start entering a word by touching the

9
keys. touch each key only once for
each letter.
Example:
To enter “Hello” in T9 mode, touch the 4, 3, 5, 5, and 6 keys.
The word that you are typing displays on the screen. It may change with each consecutive key that you touch.

Enter the whole word before editing or deleting the keystrokes.
3.
When the word correctly displays, go to step 4.
If the word doesn’t display correctly, other word choices display on the screen from which to choose. If these
choices do not include the word you want to use, add a new word into the T9 dictionary.
Example:
Both the words “Of” and “Me” have the 6 and 3 keys. The phone displays the most commonly used choice first.
4.
Insert a space by touching
Space
and start entering the next word.
To add a new word into the T9 dictionary:
1.
If the word does not display in the alternate choices, touch T9 Abc and touch
Add word
.
2.
Enter the word you want to add using ABC mode. For more information, refer to
“Changing the Text Input
Mode”
on page 41.
3.
Touch
Done
to accept the newly added word.
The word is added to the T9 dictionary and becomes a word for the associated key touch series.
Note:
This feature may not be available for some languages. The
key has some punctuation marks associated with it.
