The Outdoor Unit (Boiler)
The Control Box (MIM Box)
It is important to situate the unit within an open area with a good airflow, it
is a good idea to choose a location that is not going to be blocked by plants,
animals or anything else that may obstruct the airflow.
Another factor to take into account is the mounting surface, make sure it is a
flat, solid surface capable of withstanding the weight of the heat pump. The
unit will need to be mounted at least 100mm off the ground using the rubber
feet supplied with the kit.
The unit must be positioned so that the condensate can be adequately drained
off as it can produce up to 6 L per hour.
Dimensions:
5 kW Outdoor Unit - 798mm (h) x 880mm (w) x 310mm (d) - 59 kg
9 kW Outdoor Unit - 998mm (h) x 940mm (w) x 330mm (d) - 75 kg
16 kW Outdoor unit - 1420mm (h) x 940mm (w) x 330mm (d) - 103 kg
Please note that the 12, 14 & 16 kW units are all the same size
The clearance around the unit should be as follows;
300mm at the back of the unit
300mm at the left hand side of the unit
600mm on the right hand side of the unit to allow access behind the service
panel
1500mm from the front of the unit
The control box is not designed for outdoor use and must be installed indoors.
The items that are included with the control box are as follows;
• Controller
• Flow Switch
• Blue Cylinder Sensor
• Two Red Sensors
• Black Cable for Smart Grid Connection
• Cables for backup heater
The control kit will need to be installed within 15 metres from the domestic
hot water cylinder and no more that 100 metres from the outdoor unit and
as close as possible to the rest of the components i.e. the pump(s) and 2 port
valves etc…
