The M6220 series extension modules do not support the hot-plugging. Power off the switch before extension
module installation or replacement.
Wear anti-static gloves before the following operations.
Installing an M6220 Series Extension Module
1)
Take off the baffle in the extension slot on the front panel of a RG-S6220 series switch.
2)
Pinch the captive screws on the extension module, and leave the angle between the ejector and the front panel of
the module to the maximum. Insert the extension module into the chassis uprightly and slowly along the guide rail
until it cannot be pushed further and use the ejector to push the module into the chassis. Make sure that the
extension module is in good contact with the slot
3)
Tighten the captive screws with a screwdriver to fix the extension module in the switch chassis.
Figure 3-6 Installing an M6220 series extension module
Insert the extension module smoothly. Pay attention to the direction of the extension panel to avoid wrong
insertion.
Do not hold the edges of the printed plate or press the components on the printed plate.
If it is difficult or even impossible to insert the module, pull out the module, make sure the extension module and
guide rail are well aligned, and then insert the module again.
If the screws cannot be tightened, it is probably because the extension module is not fully inserted into. Please
check it carefully.
Removing an M6220 Series Extension Module
1)
Unplug all optical fiber and RJ45 twisted pairs on the panels.
2)
Use screwdriver to loosen the captive screws of the extension module.
3)
Pinch the captive screws on the extension module, and withdraw the extension module with the ejector slowly.
4)
Install a baffle and put the removed extension module into its package.
