4.7 Serial Card
Upon unit start up, all ports default to RS485 mode. Each port can be individually set
to RS232, RS485 or RS422 mode via software. The RJ45 port is shown in Figure 31
and the signal description is given in Table 11.

NOTE:
Pins 1, 2, and 3 are connected internally. Pins 7 and 8 are connected
internally. No internal termination is provided. . In RS232 mode, these pins enter a
high impedance state. A DTE that asserts DTR and expects DSR or DCD will
operate correctly. A DTE that asserts RTS will see CTS asserted, although
RuggedRouter will not perform hardware flow control on the port.
