Process value display
All values for the current process such as actual kiln temperature, heating perfor-
mance, status of control outputs are displayed continually in the red display . The
TC 504 is suitable for use in multi-zone kilns . The icons on the left side of the red
display indicate the kiln zones and their respective values . By default, you can call
the following values by pushing the “
O
“ in ROHDE and “
zone
“ key on the red
display:
Actual kiln performance in percent
Kilns operated by contactors output their heat performance in percent as
pulse-to-pause ratio (e .g . 50% = kiln 15 seconds on, 15 seconds off) .
Status of control outputs
Activated outputs are indicated by their number (the example shows all 4
outputs active) . The functionality of outputs is determined by the configu-
ration .
Specific event messages
Displays specific process events if necessary . An “E“ is displayed on the
left side; the respective code is indicated on the right (see example “A4“) .
Consult Appendix A for details of event messages and error codes .
Power consumption since program start
The TC 504 calculates the power consumption of the current firing process
by adding up the heating cycles provided that the kiln power rating has
been correctly set during the configuration (see Appendix B) .
Heating elements operating time
The TC 504 calculates the net operating time (i .e . only the effective opera-
ting time) by adding up the heating cycles for the current firing process since
program start . This allows the kiln load to be calculated during and after
firing .
Total operating time of heating elements
As above, but time is added to show a total value . This allows for easy
control of service life of heating elements . For safety reasons, only the
manufacturer is allowed to reset this value to zero .
If no other key is pushed, the controller automatically leaves the process
value list.
