Service setting 2
Test of the output relays
22
SYCON
3000 C
Wait approx. 10 to 20 seconds until any air bubbles in the measuring chamber have disappeared. With the
help of the potentiometer in the terminal box, adjust the display to a value between 95 % and 105 %.
Should this not prove possible, check if the measuring chamber has been filled with clear water. Clean the
sensors
Note!
The hardness of the water is not significant, since the adjustment takes place using pure water – without the
addition of the indicator. The accuracy of the measurement is not dependent on this adjustment either, since
the measurement is based on the recognition of an colour change (indicator transition). For each measure-
ment a blank value i.e a measurement without indicator is conducted. During the addition of the indicator,
the relative alteration in brightness within the measuring chamber is the basis for the measurement of the
colour change.
For the electrical measurement, however, a minimum brightness is required. The calibration value must
therefore lie over 50 %. Otherwise, the error message "Blank value too low" occurs on measurement.
Test of the output relays
Using the
"KEY"
key, you can activate the key function
"TEST"
for the
"F3"
key in the output setting of the
analyser (no analysis sequence). Press the key function
"TEST".
After approx. 4 seconds, the analyser
switches into the test setting.

In this setting, you can select the 3 output relays consecutively via the

key and activate and deactivate
them with the "TEST" key. In programme step 5.4, it is determined whether, when activated, the relay con-
cerned is in the operative or inoperative state..
You quit the test setting by pressing the "END" key. The test mode is automatically exited 2 minutes after the
last operation.
After quitting the test function, the relays are switched back into their states before the test.
ATTENTION! Bear in mind the possible consequences of an activation: e.g. error message in
the central control room, start of a regeneration, shutdown of a boiler plant etc.
Therefore, the testing of the operational capability of the output relays should only be performed by trained
staff.
