Rittal Perforex BC machining centre

Cross-slide with maintenance unit (Y support):
The cross-slide is fastened with linear guides to the gantry and moves on
this vertically up and down in the Y direction. To do this, a gear rack into
which the drive motor of the cross-slide engages is fastened to the gantry.
All further devices for machining the components are fastened to the cross-
slide. These include: spindle, minimal lubrication unit, gear rack lubrication
unit, pressure plate and swarf extraction. (For the Perforex BC 1001 HS, the
lubrication units are located at the top of the gantry.)

To prevent the cross-slide from falling down when the controller is switched
off, the drive motor has a holding brake that keeps the cross-slide reliably in
position, even when de-energised.
Spindle (Z support):
The spindle is fastened to the cross-slide and moves on this forwards and
backwards in the Z direction. The spindle drives the tools that cut in the ma-
terial.
Pressure plate
The patented pressure plate, incl. all-side rollers and rubber ring, stabilises
the workpiece during the milling operation. This extends the service life of
the milling tools and efficiently extracts most of the resulting swarf through
the connected underpressure system.
