Message header
All messages are preceded by a header which consists of a capital letter and a
forward slash, such as "J/" in the message "J/G0E0M2". Since the message
header denotes the type of message, it can be used to determine what kind of
message has been received.
The following message headers are used:
X/ : Command message
Q/ : Information request message
R/ : Response message
F/ : Function status information message
J/ : Current status information message
K/ : Current error information message
D/ : Measurement data information message
E/ : Measurement error information message
S/ : Particle size information message
Message send/receive timing
When the KS-93 receives a correct send request message or command message,
or when the received message contained an error, it returns a response message
to the external equipment.
In the mode for automatic sending of measurement results (S0 mode), the
KS-93 automatically transmits measurement data when the measurement is
completed.
The external equipment can send a message to the KS-93 at any time. However,
when sending multiple messages, before sending the next message, the external
equipment should either check whether the appropriate report message or
response message has been received for the previous message, or wait a
sufficient amount of time (1 second or more). If the previous message is a
command message which requires processing (such as "X/L1" or "X/G1"),
the external equipment should check the status of the KS-93 to determine
whether processing has been completed before sending another message.
