The printing surface of
printed media becomes
dirty.
• The pinch rollers are
dirty.
• Ink is clogged around
the print heads.
• The media curls, and
the print heads are
rubbing the media.
• The position of print
heads is too low.
Perform the following:
1. Clean the pinch rollers. For
details, see page 83 "Cleaning
the Pinch Roller".
2. Clean the areas around the print
heads. For details about cleaning,
see "Cleaning Around the Print
Heads", Requests for Daily Care
and Maintenance.
3. Set waved media correctly. For
details about setting the media,
see page 65 "When Media
Curls While Feeding".
After loading the media correctly,
perform head cleaning.
Ink adheres to the media.
• The print head nozzle
faces are dirty.
• The cap is dirty.
Perform the following:
1. Clean the capping station and the
area around print-head nozzles.
See "Cleaning the Capping
Station" or "Cleaning Around the
Print Heads", Requests for Daily
Care and Maintenance.
2. Cleaning the nozzle faces of the
print heads. See "Cleaning the
Nozzle Faces of the Print Heads",
Requests for Daily Care and
Maintenance.
• Depending on the type or conditions of the media to be used, you may not obtain the print result
you expect. Make sure to use appropriate media. For details about appropriate media, see
page 18 "About Media".
