Wearing protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip footwear, protective gloves, a helmet
and/or hearing protection (depending on the type and application of the electrical device concerned)
reduces the risk of injury.
- When performing work that generates dust, wear a dust protective mask to prevent dust irritation.
- Each time before you use the blower, check the integrity of the product for signs of damage and
ageing.
Do not use the appliance if damaged or worn.
The product should only be operated when it is in perfect working order.
Any damaged or defective components should be repaired immediately by a qualified technician.
Never attempt to use an incomplete, not fully assembled or modified blower.
- Under no circumstances should the blower be operated while safety devices, protections, defective
guards or shields are damaged or if safety equipment such as a deflection device or collection bag are
not installed.
- Browse the working area to:
-.- remove all objects and foreign materials that may be thrown by the blower,
-.- identify hard objects or risk areas to avoid damaging the blower.
3.3.2- During use
- Always disconnect the sparkplug in the following circumstances:
. Whenever you leave the machines; when the blower is not in use, is being carried/transported,
or is left unattended.
. before clearing a blockage; while examining, cleaning or unclogging the product.
. before checking, cleaning or working on the product, performing maintenance on it, or
attaching accessories to it.
. If the device strikes a foreign object (e.g. fence…) or starts to vibrate abnormally.
- If product bumps into any object during operation, stop it and control that it has not been damaged.
Replace or repair any damaged piece in a qualified service centre.
- Use the blower in daylight or with adequate illumination (good artificial light).
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
- Bear in mind that the force generated by a motorised machine can make you lose your balance.
Therefore, make sure that your feet are firmly planted and that your body is well balanced when you
are operating the product.
- Never operate the blower on damp areas or wet grass.
- Use of the blower on sloping areas:
. Do not work in areas with unduly steep slopes.
. Always be sure of your footing on slopes. Position yourself horizontally to the slope and make
sure your feet are firmly planted.
. Exercise particular caution whenever you change directions while working on a slope.
- Walk, never run. Walk at a measured pace while operating the blower. DO NOT RUN.
- Keep the air outlet and ventilation holes (cooling air inlets) unobstructed, clear of debris and clean
at all times.
- Never direct the blown air opening towards persons or animals. Never blow debris in the direction
of bystanders and/or animals or towards property (e.g. cars, windows, greenhouses…).
- Do not assume of your knowledge of the blower. Remember that a split second of negligence is
sufficient to cause serious damage. Be aware of your surroundings and stay alert for potential hazards
that you may not hear while operating the product.
3.3.3- Before maintenance and storage
- Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the appliance is in safe working condition.
- Replace any worn or damaged parts.
- Make sure to use only genuine/original replacement parts and accessories.
- For reasons of safety, any worn or damaged component should be replaced or repaired immediately
