After all ink cartridges have been cleaned, carefully swing
the print unit downwards, making sure that the print unit
locks properly in place.

Release the clamping lever
•
Move the print unit into the “parked” position.
Note for XPS-90
: The XPS-90 print units are not designed for
manual cleaning. The XPS-90 automatically cleans and caps the
ink cartridges. However, if the cartridge should require cleaning,
you can remove the ink cartridges from their cradles (pen stalls)
and clean them outside the printer. Then return them to their cra-
dles (pen stalls).
If the cartridges do not appear to be getting properly cleaned, by
the automatic system in the XPS-90, then the cleaning station
may require service. If the wipers in the cleaning station become
very soiled, they will not be able to properly clean the nozzles.
The wipers and purge area in the XPS-90 must be routinely ser-
viced, in order to maintain the best possible print quality results.
