Conversion Kit # 311-977 from NG to LPG
for Gi29L using SIT 820 NOVA Gas Valve
THIS CONVERSION MUST BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED GAS FITTER
IF IN DOUBT DO NOT DO THIS CONVERSION !!
1.
Turn the unit off and allow it to cool to room
temperature.
2.
Unplug or disconnect the stove power
source.
3.
Remove the safety screen and glass front
(see manual).
4.
Remove the logs and brick panels (if in-
stalled).
5.
Remove the right rear log bracket (3 screws).
10. Remove the burner orifice with a 1/2" wrench
and replace it with the #52 orifice in the kit.
Use another wrench to support behind the
elbow when removing/replacing the burner
orifice.
11. Turn the control knob to the “OFF” posi-
tion.

12. Remove the black protection cap from
the hi-low knob (Fig.1) by hand.

15. Flip the screw (Fig. 3).

13. Insert a 5/32” or 4mm Allen wrench into
the hexagonal keyway of the screw (Fig.
2); rotate it counter-clockwise until it is
free and extract it.
14. Check that the screw is clean.

Slide the burner tray to the left and out.

This conversion kit shall be installed by
a qualified service agency in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions and
all applicable codes and requirements of
the authority having jurisdiction. If these
instructions are not followed exactly, a fire,
explosion, or carbon monoxide may re-
sult, causing property damage, personal
injury, or loss of life. The qualified service
agency is responsible for the proper in-
stallation of this kit. The installation is not
proper and complete until the operation of
the converted appliance is checked.

16. Using the Allen wrench as shown in Fig.4,
rotate the screw clockwise until snug; do
not overtighten.
8.
Pull off the pilot cap to expose the pilot
orifice.
6.
Remove the burner tray (2 screws).
9.
Unscrew the pilot orifice with the Allen key
and replace with the LP pilot orifice in the
kit and replace pilot cap.
