Using routes
Introduction
This section explains how to use H6 to chart and plot courses and covers:
• Creating routes.
• Editing routes.
• Monitoring a course.
The definition of terms used in working with charts and routes will be found in
Appendix A:Charts
A route is made up of a series of waypoints placed on a chart. A route can be
created by placing individual waypoints, or by selecting waypoints from the
waypoint list.
When a route is created it becomes the current route and is displayed on-screen
The current route is maintained when you power-off H6. Only one route can be
current. It is displayed (if it is in the field-of-view) as solid lines connecting
waypoints. If you are following the route, the current leg is shown as a dotted line
and the previous legs are removed from the screen, although the waypoints
remain displayed.
The current route can be edited by adding and removing waypoints. Once a route
has been saved, options allow you to rename it, delete it or display route details.
