PiXtend V2 -L- Hardware Manual
6.2.3.The connection to Raspberry Pi
The Raspberry Pi Computer and PiXtend V2 -L- are connected via a 40-pin flat-ribbon
cable. The finished cable with pre-assembled connectors is included in the scope of
delivery of each PiXtend V2 -L- system. In the case of the ePLC variants, the cable is
already installed at the time of delivery.
6.2.3.1 Raspberry Pi pin strips
A wide range of voltages and signals from the Raspberry Pi are connected via the flat-
band cable connection.
The following connections of the Raspberry Pi B + / 2 B / 3 B / 3 B+ are not used on
PiXtend V2 -L- and are therefore available for other applications:
–
GPIO27, GPIO25, GPIO5, GPIO6, GPIO12, GPIO13, GPIO19, GPIO16, GPIO26,
GPIO20, GPIO21
→ are routed over the flat ribbon cable to PiXtend, but not used
Raspberry Pi Extensions from other manufacturers must be checked for compatibility
before use. No general statement can be made as to whether the RPi expansion of a third
manufacturer can be used in combination with PiXtend V2 -L-.
