PiXtend V2 -L- Hardware Manual
Connection Notes
Das nachfolgende Schaltbild verdeutlicht den Anschluss unterschiedlicher Signalquellen
an einen digitalen Eingang.
The digital inputs are always logic "0" / "low" levels when idle (e.g., no voltage applied - no
connection). The inputs have a ground reference (pull-down), which prevents an undefined
state ("floating input").
The digital inputs can be used to read a wide range of sensors, switches and buttons. The
input voltage to the inputs can be in the range from 3.3 V to 30 V. In order to be able to
cover this large area, a jumper was provided for each input, which allows the selection
between two voltage ranges (adaptation of the switching level).
The pin strips on which the jumpers can be inserted are located behind the connection
terminals of the digital inputs on PiXtend V2 -L-. Two pins of the pin strip are assigned to
one input. The first two pins (from left to right) belong to DI0, the two subsequent DI1, etc.
With the jumper, the two pins are short-circuited, thus adapting the input circuit to the other
input voltage range.
By default PiXtend V2 -L- is supplied in the 24 V range (12 / 24 V) - no jumper inserted.
With the jumper plugged in, the input is set to the 5 V range (3.3 / 5 V).
The different specifications of the voltage ranges must be observed.
